Version G was the most produced variant of the Pzkpfw V Panther and replaced version A in 1944. The chassis was designed to be more economical and further improvements were continuously incorporated into production. Vehicles in the final version had, among other things, a modified engine deck and a modified cylinder cover.
With its 7.5cm 42L/70 cannon and projectile-repellent design, the Panther proved to be a dangerous opponent. The V-12 cylinder Maybach HL 230P30 petrol engine with a maximum output of 700 hp enabled the 44,800 kg Panther Ausf. G to reach a top speed of up to 55 km/h. The crew consisted of five men.
